The 76ers at One: The Rise of the 76ers

Alexander McCrystal, Sports Journalist

The Sixers began the season with aspirations of a championship and the goal of proving the doubters wrong and making it past the second round. To say they have met expectations would be completely incorrect, they have far exceeded them. Joel Embiid was having an MVP season, but now he is out for at least two to three weeks. His MVP-caliber performance could be key to a finals run. But as of late, the Sixers have been blowing out opponents with Ben Simmons playing like a Defensive Player of the Year while playing his best basketball in his career. Tobias Harris is becoming an elite scorer. They are doing this all without Embiid’s services, making it that more incredible. They are the number one team in their conference and have the second best record in the league. This season is special.
