It’s Good to be Home: Salesianum Hosts Sussex Central on Friday Night
September 10, 2021
Salesianum hosts Sussex Central High School at 7:30 Friday night at Abessinio Stadium. Although it’s early in the season, the anticipation is high and there is a feeling around Salesianum that hasn’t been seen yet this year. Salesianum has a tough task at hand. Let’s see if they’re up to the challenge.
Sussex Central defeated William Penn 20-0 last Friday. Quarterback Andrew Long rushed for 146 yards and completed three touchdown passes. Salesianum will look to stop the talented Sussex Central quarterback and, if they do so, Salesianum will get its second straight win after defeating Cape Henlopen 28-20 last week. Conor Campbell made his first start as quarterback for Salesianum in that game, rushing for 50 yards and two touchdowns. He completed seven of eleven passes for 93 yards and completed a touchdown. Running Back Cooper Brown ran for 79 yards and Wide Receiver Lukas Ryan caught three passes for 48 yards.
Friday night, Salesianum will again be led by captains Ryan Adams, Sam Dumas, Brown and Campbell. It should be a fun one as the two undefeated teams go at it — each one trying to give the other team its first loss. So far, everything is brewing in the right direction for Salesianum. Let’s see if they can make it all the way to the top.
