The Spike for Life Tournament took place on November 1st. It had a bracket of 13 teams of two. It raised $500 for its beneficiary, “A Door of Hope” , a Christ-centered organization that empowers people to make life-affirming and healthy decisions, particularly about sex and pregnancy.”
The Spike for Life Tournament is an annual fundraiser hosted by the Salesians for Life Club to fund nearby organizations that help new mothers and their babies with shelter, jobs, baby food, bottles, diapers, etc. Salesians for Life meets in room C 148, moderated by Mr. Lee and Mrs. Correale; each participating team donates $25 to enter. Last year’s Spike for Life winner, Andrew Palko ‘25, organized and promoted the tournament. This year’s winners are Tanner Williams ‘25 and Braeden Graham ‘25 in first place, and in second place are Daniel Krienen ‘25 and Garrett Lewis ‘25.
“We hope to have a representative from A Door of Hope come to receive the funds at Prep.” – Mrs. Correale.
According to Mrs. Correale, the Spike for Life Tournament had a great turnout this year, with three volunteers and 26 players. She also said that the club hopes to add a dodgeball tournament fundraiser before the end of the school year.
