Salesianum students love to compete. Whether competition takes place on a field, stage, or classroom is irrelevant. We all have an evolutionary itch that makes us want to have power, be the best. There exists an instinctive drive within students to be the best, and for many, that competitive spirit takes center stage (or table) every Wednesday at the Ping Pong Club. Here you can find fierce matches being played between three levels. Students of all abilities and even teachers can be seen enjoying the sport at and around Salesianum‘s tables. You can find ping pong club moderators Mr. Walker, Mr. White, and Mr. Mazirui patrolling their respective floors and looking for students brave enough to play. Many disputes arise and are settled on the tables, and many rivalries are created (as well as new friendships). Each year, tournaments are held to determine who is truly the best in the school at ping pong. Recently, the ping pong club held its Fall Classic tournament. Fifty students, along with teachers such as Mr. Fera and Mr. Menicucci battled over rounds of pool play to 11. After 6 rounds, only one student was left standing, Enzo Viterbo 26’. Every student had fun playing ping pong and trying their best, and the club is looking forward to their next tournament.
