Sallies football is back, after a strong off season, ready to take on some of the toughest competition.
The Sals are coming off a dominant 52-6 win over Red Lion. Red Lion was confident they could put up a challenge but Salesianum’s defense and offense were tough. Now Salesianum must face the top ranked team in Pennsylvania; La Salle College. With multiple five star players with commitments and offers, the explorers are stacked with power players. Overtime sports and PCL Sports Network will also broadcast live on Friday. La Salle is coming off a big 42-35 win against a tough Malvern Prep team.
After the game against Red Lion Salesianum Quarterback Brady Nabb said: “To be honest I feel like we had a great game plan going into the game. We felt confident in our ability to go and make plays and that’s what we did. Props to the defense as well for making big plays. It’s all about trusting the guys around you.” Brady Nabb ‘27
One of La Salle’s heavy hitters is the number one recruit in Keystone state Joey O’Brien ‘26 who plays both defensive back and wide receiver. With offers from powerhouse football programs; Penn State, Notre Dame and Clemson.
But Sallies football has its fair share of competition and the program has made multiple greats such as RJ Johnson ‘25 who is now at Rutgers and Brian O’Neil ‘14 who is now playing for the NFL team the Vikings. Thanks to the strong brotherhood and teamwork the team has always had.
“Win or lose, we always will win as one community.” Abraham Castellano, Student Council President, ‘26
In the game against Red Lion on Thursday 8/28 Quarterback Brady Nabb ‘27 made connections with Jett Healy’27, Jayvian Burrell ‘26, and Odell Teel for amazing plays. Jett had a 94 yard pick 6, Jay had another pick 6, and Odell was a defensive menace. Wide Receiver Jamar Taylor ‘27 has multiple offers to schools such as North Carolina and Michigan.
When Brady Nabb was asked how he and the team are preparing he replied: “My mindset is just like any other game. Just go out there and trust my guys and make plays. Can’t let all of the outside opinions and hype get to us. We just have to play our game.” Brady Nabb ‘27
It’s going to be a tough and very competitive game for sure. And while Sallies is considered the underdog in this La Salle should watch out.
“To all the sallies fans. Get loud and enjoy the show.” Brady Nabb, Sals Quarterback ‘27
